What Is the Charme Dance AI Trend? From Pedra do Sal to Seu Zé

A Rio street dance, a grandpa named Seu Zé, and a template that replaces only the red-shirt lead.

The same stone street keeps arriving in the feed. An older man in a red shirt takes one smooth step toward the camera. A man in a white tank top and a brown hat stays just behind him. Sometimes the man in red is a grandpa. Sometimes he has an action-hero haircut. The paving does not change. That is the Charme Dance AI trend: a real Rio dance, recast one lead at a time.

Charme Dance AI uses a prepared 10-second clip of that scene. It replaces only the closest dancer, the white-haired man in the red shirt. The hat, the crowd and the original sound stay. You bring one photo of one adult. You do not film the dance yourself.

The dance was already a night out in Rio

Baile charme is the smooth end of a Rio dance floor, closer to R&B than to a sprint. The notes for this story keep placing it in Madureira and at Pedra do Sal, and they date the first widely copied post to 7 August at Pedra do Sal. On 17 October 2026, O Globo wrote about learning the steps at home. The headline is about the real baile, and about a platform that brings it indoors. The meme and the newspaper landed in the same week, looking at the same footwork from opposite ends.

Three frames from one street dance video, at 30, 50 and 80 seconds, showing the red-shirt lead and the man in the brown hat.
One clip, three moments: 30s, 50s and 80s from @zenegaooficial. The man in the brown hat stays in the scene. @zenegaooficial

The street performance the remixes keep copying

The pair is easy to tell apart once you have seen them twice. Closest to the lens: white hair, round glasses, a red short-sleeve shirt, black suspenders, a brown waist pouch. A step behind: a white tank top and a brown hat. They dance in a loose line on the stones, with a crowd near enough to count as part of the night.

Project notes dated 21 October 2026 put an @zenegaooficial post from Pedra do Sal on 7 August, at about 1.6 million views by mid-October. The street video in the pictures is a second clip from that account, logged in the same notes at about 2.5 million views. A 24 September duo, also from @zenegaooficial, was logged at about 472,000. That duo is a different lane and a different pairing. It is not the scene the AI grandpa copies. The file saved for the 7 August link is a television interview, so it is not shown here. These counts are the 21 October notes, not a live reading.

The step is why the clip could travel. Weight shifts, an arm opens, and you can still see who is who when someone turns. A remix that keeps the hat and the stones reads as the same night. A remix that replaces the whole street is a different joke.

Three frames from the Seu Zé video, at 5, 14 and 20 seconds, showing the white-haired man in the red shirt dancing.
One clip, three moments: 5s, 14s and 20s from @seuzerj. The post calls him Seu Zé. These frames do not identify a real person behind the character. @seuzerj

Nobody believed in grandpa

On 16 October, @seuzerj posted an AI lead and named him Seu Zé de Madureira. Across the picture runs the line Ninguém botou fé no vovô no baile charme: nobody had any faith in grandpa at the charme dance. The same notes record that post at about 100,000 views. The sentence did more work than the counter. It is a plot. The person you would not have cast is already the person the camera is following, and he is taking the step seriously.

Seu Zé inherits the red shirt, the glasses and the suspenders. The hat and the stones stay, which is how the joke stays a recast and not a new location. The name is the name on the post. It does not identify a private individual behind the character.

People then went hunting for a música do Seu Zé, as if grandpa had released a single. The sound is the audio that already belonged to the dance. There is no separate Seu Zé song behind the trend.

Then the same street filled up with movie heroes

The notes place the first action-star remakes on 13 October. One of them, from @rafagalvao85, puts a Van Damme-styled fighter on those same stones, brown hat still in the background. Spanish-language posts started calling the look Van Damme bailando. Other names in the same notes: dança AI retrô, Festa Charme, vovô no baile charme, and baile charme AI. By 18 October, CapCut tutorials were circulating. A write-up recorded in the 21 October notes said one tutorial passed 605,000 views in under a day. That figure was not measured again for this article.

Two numbers should stay in their own boxes. #BaileCharme was already a large tag because the dance is older than the meme. A view total on that tag is a history of the dance, not a census of AI remixes. The template-use counts in the same folder disagree with each other, so none of them is repeated here.

The CapCut route had a practical snag. The template sat inside the app, usually reached from a tutorial, and it was built for a single photo. The version here asks for one photo of one adult. The site makes the close crop, so you do not upload a second picture.

Three frames from the accepted Charme Dance AI example: a woman in a black shirt dances in front, and the man in the white tank top and brown hat remains behind her.
The accepted 10-second example at 1s, 4s and 7s. The photographed woman replaces the red-shirt lead. The man in the brown hat stays. This example was made from one photo plus an automatic close crop, which is the same input the form asks for. Charme Dance AI example

What the template changes

Charme Dance AI puts one adult into the prepared street clip and replaces only the closest lead. Your one photo is for that one role. The man in the white tank top and brown hat is meant to stay. So is anyone who walks through later.

Upload one photo of that adult. It should show the face and the outfit you want. The site makes a close crop from that photo. You do not upload a video of yourself dancing. A second person, a pet, or a built-in celebrity is outside this template. The September duo is a different clip, and this one will not turn the man in the hat into your friend.

Kling 3.0 Omni renders 10 seconds, vertical 9:16, at 720p. The matching soundtrack is restored afterward. It does not clone your voice. One finished video costs 200 site credits. There is no free preview and no shorter version at a lower price.

The accepted example is a woman in a black shirt. She takes the red-shirt place; the hat stays. That example was made on 22 October 2026 from one photograph plus an automatic close crop. The form asks for that same one photo, and the site makes the close crop. A later wording pass on the prompt has not had a separate paid run. Likeness, clothing and every step can change. When the lead turns sideways, the edit is supposed to keep that side. It should not twist the face forward to please the camera. Watch the 10-second example before you spend the credits.

After the upload is accepted, follow the job in My videos on the same account. The page can stay closed while it runs. A successful video remains available for seven days, so download the one you want to keep. If generation fails, the usual once-only refund returns the 200 credits. A lost response after submission does not buy a second render. Current credit options are on Pricing.

Give the lead a reason to be there

The costume was never the punchline. The caption was. A different shirt on the same step is a wardrobe test. Nobody believed in this person is a post.

  • Viewer trigger: someone who was not supposed to be the lead takes the step anyway.
  • Series promise: the same street, a different underdog each time.
  • Opening line: Nobody believed in [name] at the dance.
  • Cover rule: keep your person and the brown hat in the same frame. The hat is how viewers know which night this is.
  • Comment prompt: Who else got told they could not dance?
  • Next episode: use one reply as the next reason to be in front. Leave the street alone.

Post the generated video vertical. The pictures in this guide are landscape strips, so a full-body step can sit in a wide article. Say it is an AI remix where the platform asks you to.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Charme Dance video real or AI?

The street performance with the red shirt and the brown hat is a filmed dance. The Seu Zé video and the action-star remixes are AI recasts of that scene. The stills above are separated by source so those two things stay distinct.

Who is Seu Zé?

Seu Zé de Madureira is the name on the @seuzerj post from 16 October. The line with him is "Ninguém botou fé no vovô no baile charme". It names the character in that video.

Do I need one photo or two?

One photo of one adult. Show the face and the outfit you want. The site makes a close crop from it. You do not upload a second photo or a source video. The accepted example was made the same way.

Can I add a friend, a pet, or Van Damme?

The template takes one adult and replaces only the closest lead. It has no second-person slot, no pet slot, and no celebrity preset. The man in the brown hat belongs to the original scene.

Does this include the song?

The download restores the clip's original soundtrack. There is no separate Seu Zé track to hunt down, and the template does not clone your voice. Check the music rules of the app where you post.

What does it cost?

200 site credits for the complete 10-second video. There is no free preview. Check your balance and Pricing before you submit.

Dates and view counts come from the project notes dated 21 October 2026. They were not measured again on 22 October. The 7 August link in those notes downloaded locally as a television interview, which is why that file is not a picture of the dance.
